Now available from CPR Classic is this immaculate 1962 Porsche 356 B in Champagne Yellow (6205) over black leather interior. This car features a complete CPR Certified ground-up restoration to the highest standard. It is such a rare occasion when a restorer finds a one-owner, one-hundred-percent damage-and-rust-free, numbers-matching California car that we had to purchase this example. From the moment we saw it, we realized it should be part of our private collection. The car was stripped to bare metal and found to have original metal with no prior rust, damage or filler anywhere. All gaps are factory original and pristine. Every panel on the car was in beautiful condition including its original floors, which are still in perfect shape with no prior damage. A comprehensive nut and bolt restoration was completed using many of the car's original, restored components. The car was refinished in its factory Champagne Yellow painted with correct German Glasurit paint. Following paint, the car was partially assembled before being delivered to Autobahn Interiors to have a complete interior installed including leather-upholstered front and rear seats, leather-upholstered door panels, German square-weave carpet, leather-upholstered dash and German ivory headliner. The car then returned to CPR and assembly was completed prior to the car being completely sorted and made ready for driving. With the intention of keeping the car, we chose to convert it to C/SC disc brakes and build the matching numbers engine to big-bore, performance specification including a Harry Pellow cam, 86mm pistons and cylinders, Super-90-spec cylinder heads, and re-jetting of the original Zenith carburetors. The car is estimated to produce 100hp and is an incredible drive all around. The disc brakes make the car more confidence-inspiring to drive with the additional horsepower. It corners superbly with great steering feel thanks to new bushings, bearings, dampers and a rebuilt steering box. This B is an incredible pleasure to drive and is every bit as great behind the wheel as it is to look at. We have chosen to sell the car due to the acquisition of an incredible early 911- and it was not a choice we made lightly. If a fully restored, near-concours-level car with excellent history and all original metal is what you are looking for, this is absolutely the car.SOLD
