356 A

CPR Classic is proud to introduce this pristine 1958 Porsche 356A T2 Coupe painted in its factory original Auratium Green over a Fawn leather interior.

The car's first owner had this 356A for a bit over three years, putting very few miles on it before selling it to its second owner. The second owner purchased the car in 1962 for $3,100.00 and lovingly cared for the vehicle for the following 50 years. Included in the documentation are the original sales contract and a copy of the check that was used as payment.

A talented private restorer performed a complete sympathetic restoration on the car with the intention of keeping the car for himself. However, a business opportunity prompted the owner to part ways with the vehicle a few years back, which is when the car first arrived at CPR.

At that time the car was thoroughly inspected for its quality of restoration and mechanical correctness. As we had hoped, this 356A showed exceptional quality and aligned with the quality of work that we strive for at CPR. At this time, the car was sold to a private collector in British Colombia who drove the car sparingly over his nearly two-year-long ownership. He added a mere 300 miles to the car's overall mileage. The vehicle has recently returned to our facilities, and we are pleased to confirm that this 356A retains its outstanding condition. Based on the car's documentation and history, 54,XXX is believed to be the car's original mileage.

We can assure that this car has indeed been finished to a top-notch standard, and is being sold as a 'CPR Certified Porsche' that comes with a comprehensive mechanical warranty for its purchaser.

All body panels are numbers-matching. Also, this A maintains its original battery box and only the flat section of the belly pans was replaced during the restoration, preserving the exceptional original longitudinal and rocker panels.

The engine and transmission are the original matching numbers examples with clear, unmolested stampings. Five correct road wheels are date-stamped late 1957 and early 1958.

Overall this is a very-well-kept-together example with a clean history and a very high-quality restoration. It is the perfect car for someone looking for a refreshing, no-nonsense 356A in a rare color combination.
