Restoration has been good to this 1971 911T Coupe. It punches above its model designation, maintains a vintage 911 smell (never doubt the olfactory system's contribution to desire) and practically begs you to take the long way to the grocery store- preferably through the nearest set of esses with an on-camber sweeper before a long straight.

This 911T, chassis number 9111121100, was restored to its original Light Ivory (paint code 1111) over black leatherette combination by a marque specialist less than a decade ago. Since then, it's only gained about 393 miles but was regularly started and maintained in a dry storage facility.

It starts quickly and runs extremely well, having benefited from an invisible E upgrade. These 2.2-liter carbureted T cars were rated at about 125 horsepower, but this car delivers a dyno-verified 143 horsepower to the wheels. One small concession was made to modernity in the form of a pressure-fed tensioner upgrade, otherwise, the engine compartment appears as factory and is tidy and presentable.

The suspension and brakes benefitted from the same tidy presentation and abundance of new parts- Bilstein dampers, rebuilt braking system, new bushings and bearings throughout. This T has a rear sway bar, quelling rear roll.

The interior is refreshed and presents very well. The gauges are fresh, and the car retains its original tunnel carpet but received fresh carpet elsewhere. Armrests and pockets are freshened-up originals.

The exterior is very nice, having undergone a bare-metal repaint to ensure nothing was hidden and nothing will bite the next owner. Light Ivory is a perfect shade for a car like this- not so flashy as to attract the watchful eye of the law, but not devoid of color either. It's a color that likes shade and sunlight, never too bright.

Everything in moderation, except quality- ask for that in spades. Ask for this car when you call.
